This is one of the main reasons I left a previous job, there was poor Human Resource Management. Sometimes there would be insane deadlines put on project deliverables and even if the employee worked extremely hard and did a good job, there was no acknowledgement of that effort. There was also a reluctance to allow people to do fulfill the roles they were more interested in and their career goals were dismissed as not important. Me and several other employees decided to look elsewhere and I found a company with exceptional Human Resource Management. My boss was interested in my future career path and wanted to provide me the tools to get there. The company also pays for employees to take training courses for personal development, on company time. These are benefits which result in high retention rates and not having to go through losing your top talent. Then you will need to invest even more to train more new employees. There is no better investment for a company than to invest in their people.
