Of the two processes involved in the logging of changes made to the DHF, the second one seems better. When changes are being made to the product, even after the Design transfer, there should be a copy in the DHF noting these changes. Any change made to the design is important, no matter how small it may seem. As a result, there should be a record of the changes. This way if something is misunderstood or incorrect in the design there will be a way to track it in the DHF. However, I do feel that if there is a complete difference in the product when there is a change in the design, there should be a new DHF issued. When there is a huge difference in the product then it becomes a different product, even if it is meant to improve the current idea. In a way a combination of the two ideas would be the most efficient.
