Human resource management is extremely important. I recently started working for a new company and HR is in charge of finding the best fit for open positions. It seems that some of the operators/technicians that were hired were not a good fit which really impacted our production in a negative way. The operators who do not deliver either quit or are replaced which result in a high turnover. It takes a few weeks to train an operator to do the job and if we are constantly changing them, we waste time training which in turn slows down production. This really showed me the importance of having a good HR management department.
