There’s a few reasons I have left jobs in the past but the main has always been a better opportunity. However, there are jobs that I have regretted leaving and others I have not. The ones I have not regretted were ones with either hostile environments or ones which were simply, as the professor had said, unfulfilling in terms of praise and recognition.

It is definitely important to have jobs where you are, appropriately, praised and recognized. It is a great indicator for people that you are doing well and can also be an motivator in the sense that you have a better future with the company.
