The design input essentially details what is expected of your finished product. Sources of design input can be taken from market research to see what consumers want and how to make improvements on your product that they were initially not expecting but they might need later on. Another design input would be the regulations that the product must abide by as the product cannot be brought to market unless it conforms to the established standards. Another possible design input would be the required materials for actually making the product or rather the cost to making the tangible product and also the employer’s expectations of the product itself. Also, another design input could be a potential improvement that could be made later on after the product is finished, such as software updates or physical attachments. These things could be new ideas not previously thought of before or improvements that can be made based on what other competitive products lack.
