Through out the project phases and process communication is the most crucial part. From initiating to the Closing process, if there was no real communication the project will go down. Communication is about what communicators do, we maybe great technically but we will not achieve our goals due to communication problems. In addition, Satisfy Stakeholders requests and needs, and improve or fix the products can only be done by real communication to understand the true needs and changes that must be done.
what other skills needed Before starting a project that oneself need to have first?
Communication is definitely an important skill to have for completing tasks within a project, but it is important to specify that efficient use of communication and proper communication is also important. If things are "lost in translation" or miscommunicated, members of the team can perform a task incorrectly and it will waste time for closing out tasks. These errors that result from not being clear enough and making sure the message is understood can lead to major obstacles further down the chain.
Another skill that needs to be present before starting a project, in general, is the proper allocation of resources and time management. Assigning priority to certain tasks that are more important and are necessary for completion makes sure that the overall task is not put on hold or backed up due to inefficient usage of resources. Even if everything is communicated clearly, if tasks are not assigned in a prudent fashion, projects can still fail to get completed on time.

In addition to good communication skills, planning and organization is critical to ensure all deliverables are completed on time and the project can stay on track. Before starting a project, it is important to plan ahead and map out all the deliverables and what will be required to actually complete the project, who is responsible for completing each deliverable, and when those deliverables will be completed. This will clearly outline the plan for the project and show how you intend on completing it. As the project is going on, it is also very important to be organized as a PM. There will be a lot of moving pieces and a lot of things to keep track of, many of which impact other deliverables, so it is absolutely necessary to keep track of the progress of all those things. By staying organized, you will be able to plan for when things should be completed and if there are any delays, you will be at an advantage if you've planned ahead and have a backup plan in advance.
Identifying areas within the project life cycle that may pose significant challenges is very important to do specially as a team. This allows all major project leaders to provide input and plan possible solutions to possible problems and be overall well prepared. This allows more resources and more time to be allocated this areas in the life cycle.
Good communication skills are a key to success in life, work and relationships. Effective communication depends on verbal and non-verbal body language. It is one of the important things as if the communication is not effective then the message leads to error, misunderstanding, frustration or even disaster. Communication between the team members is more essential to make out more deliverables and clear cutout planning process, at the initial stage rather at the final stage.
Communication is the key to being successful in the medical device industry. Of course, you also need to be technically competent, but interpersonal/communication/management skills with a technical basis is arguably more powerful. If you have a high technical competency and moderate or subpar communication skills, it would be challenging to make the connections you need to with managers, peers, customers and vendors in order to get your actionables complete. It would also be difficult for you to create the kinds of relationships that can springboard your career. You need to be communicate effectively on all levels. You need public speaking skills to confidently and clearly present project updates to key stakeholders in the company; writing skills in order to professionally communicate new ideas, progress, problems and more in emails and presentations; the ability to communicate appropriately with those in vastly different roles (like peers, managers, vendors, customers and etc.) These skills come with experience working with people and a lot of practice before success can be achieved.
Communication is one of the main skills in having a successful completion of task. As mentioned in a previous post, time management is an overlooked skill. Having a team that can communicate will allow to deliver and meet deadlines effectively. However, being able to set deadlines is one thing, meeting those deadlines would be extremely difficult to meet without proper time management. If the team members are able to meet their goals and communicate their assignments more directly, that would lead to a successful project.
In order to communicate properly one needs to know who to communicate with and how .The key to successful communication is to keep information in the right direction .In a team communication plays a very important role as it keeps everything In order and help in the success of the project .Success of any project whether it’s big or small is measured from outcomes .Success comes only when there is a collaboration between people and collaboration involves properly and timely communication between the team members.
Communication is a very useful and crucial skill when it comes to working with in a project team. Another crucial skill would be collaboration. This is a very important skill because you need to be able to work with others and not just think you have the best ideas. Maybe if you collaborate with someone else you can take bits from each idea and create a product. Another important skill is to take feedback and make it a positive. You need to be able to take critique and create a positive change with it instead of letting it get to you and bring you down. Nothing will be perfect on the first try or even the 5oth try. These three skills together can help a person part of a project team be as effective as possible and contribute positively to their project team.
Communication is definitely a big factor in projects because without it, you aren’t able to talk to vendors, other team members, your manager, or the customers. I also believe you need to be a good listener and approachable because when dealing with team members, everyone will have different ideas and having an open perspective will help with working with others. It will help to see all the possibilities before coming to a conclusion on how to go about the project and what needs to be done. Being approachable is also important because if you aren’t approachable, it’s harder for team members and other people to come talk to you if there are issues. It could also lead to some tension within the group or with vendors which is not needed. Having these skills and abilities will help the group work better and also work with customers who are the ones buying your product. If you do not listen to the feedback and needs of your customers, there will be issues in the project from the beginning.
I absolutely agree that communication is the key to any type of mission, let it be educational, professional or personal. No goals, purpose and strategies would be clear without proper communication. And besides that, if we are playing the role of a team leader, we also have to make sure that all the other members are on the same page when it comes to establishing or completing a project. However, there are definitely other useful characteristics that can be helpful besides communication. Some of them are, initiation, time management and critical thinking. Initiation is important because it shows how driven and motivated we are to complete a project and that can influence our surroundings to aim for the same goal. Time management on the other hand is also very important because we want to make a good balance of everything in our role at work and even at home. And lastly, critical thinking skill can help figure out the solutions to many problems that can arise when we are completing the project.
Before starting a project there are many skills that are necessary to have as a team member. Being able to collaborate with other team members, the project manager, and stakeholders is crucial for the development of the project. Leadership skills are essential as well. Before beginning the project an individual must understand there role and step up as a leader to complete there certain tasks, and be a leader and speak up when necessary. Lastly, not only is communication important but team work is vital when being a project. Teamwork includes enabling structure, mutual communication, and a common goal/purpose.
Communication is a vital part of the project phases. Having great communication with your team is a must for those in leadership and sets the tone for the rest of the project. Before starting a project time management and organizational skills are needed. Properly planning by implementing time tables that allow for missteps in addition to great communication will set a project up for success.
Communication is the basis to every project in my opinion. Any time a project fails, it is usually due to miscommunication. Financial, scientific data, and even errors in time management can be avoided if a team simply devotes to staying interactive with one another. Other than communication, I feel that another important skill needed that a person should have before starting a project is being great at negotiating. Negotiating is extremely important because throughout each stage of your project, things may or may not go as planned. From making decisions with your stakeholders, down to what decisions to sacrifice in order to meet deadlines, you have to know how to make the best choices that will help your project become a success. Being able to negotiate will allow you to still move forward in case of a downfall without having to sacrifice everything.
Good day,
I loved how you explained the importance of effective communication. Most communication is done nonverbally and often can be seen and interpret by someone before anything verbally communicated. I agree that when things are not communicated effectively it can lead to many mishaps. I see this all the time in education sector. I do believe along with clear communication before starting a project, I think the team would also need to know and understand empathy or the goal of the end user. Sometimes we are humans like to think that we know exactly what the people want, even though we did not ask the people who would be using the product if their ideal has the same end goal. What books do you think Project Managers need to read to ensure they are meeting the needs of their team?
