For myself, I do not determine a project’s worth on how easy or hard it is to accomplish, instead, I am most interested in those that produce the greatest reward or benefit. A few years ago, I worked with a team to draft and submit a grant that allowed our clinic to begin conducting community outreach clinics supported by a Mobile Clinic. The grant itself was labor-intensive and required tremendous attention to detail as well as the gathering of information and data from varied sources. Ultimately, we were successful in obtaining the grant and began to conduct local and rural clinics. It was during one of these initial clinics, which occurred pre-pandemic, that some of the participants expressed how grateful they were to see us in their community as often they have felt unseen or ignored. Our being able to provide essential medical screenings and services to these disenfranchised communities made all the hard work that was expended that much more rewarding. Essentially, where possible I prefer to work on projects that will make a positive difference in people's lives.
What kind of projects interest you the most ? Why?
I like projects that provide some real-world learning experiences. It teaches problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management. Particularly project design is an important element of a project, without it, there is no structure for the project development process. The design is a process that aims to generate sustainable ideas for project development and create an action plan for the successful realization of those ideas.
Why do you feel projects are important to an organization?
I agree with De'Onna, projects that I can learn from and use in real life scenarios are my favorite. They give you hands on experience all while learning a new skill. I like more of the management aspect to the project, planning and organizing things seem to be my forte.
How can companies and organizations get the best outcomes from their staff when working on projects?
@ridmehta I agree as well. Projects that are short in timeframe but reap impactful results are most sought after for me. It is easy to lose steam/sight of the objective when a project is long and drawn out. Of course they require more resources and an extreme amount of focused effort to be successful as well.
I prefer complex projects. This type of project has many tasks and require a lot of planning. I like the planning phase best and keeping things as simple as possible is best. It is taking a broad and complicated task and narrowing down each task as simple as possible to create a detailed roadmap that will lead you to the completion of the project. i feel this also reflects my personality and how I view and approach life.
How do your life views and personality affect the projects you prefer?
