I think the best mode of selling for this would be physicians and dentists themselves because they are the ones using it and they will be able to help spread the word because there are definitely connections. It helps if you are able to create a personal relation with a few offices and then they share their success and help spread the word. Hospitals are not a bad idea, but they probably will be less likely to take a chance on a new product there are more liability issues. Another idea would be trying to get to a conference for dentists and others that may use this tool and be able to advertise there because it is easy exposure instead of having to go door to door. There would definitely need to be a personal attachment because everyone will be suspicious about these new tools, so once you speak with the people and hear about their current problems you can gear your pitch towards answering their needs. Also, there is a better chance that you would be able to meet with the dentists at small offices instead of the larger places because the larger hospitals will need a lot more time to discuss the pros and cons and more paperwork.

I know I am not unique in saying this, but I feel a little invested in answering this because I had to go through the process of getting a dental implant that took a long while. Also the way I did it through the military maybe was a different process to other dental clinics outside of bases. With that said though, if I had to develop a company to manufacture dental tools, I would maybe try selling or contracting to dental practices on military bases or those sponsored by the VA. The reason why I say this is because most of the time, people that end up joining always have extensive dental work done. This can range from getting dental work done to mean health standards while in to taking wisdom teeth from a multitude of service members. This isn't even considering the many injuries that can occur from training or real world missions.

Because of this, military and VA dental facilities (or connected) are both a consistent and specialized market that requires durable and high quality tools that are capable of handling a high patient load with diverse dental procedures. By providing and supplying to these clinics, the developed company could have a focus on producing rugged and precise instruments that meet the standard for the audience. There could also be a benefit from long term contracts and the success of the company could have any new technologies or devices bleed into the much wider audience outside of the military.
