I agree that information distribution and source selection are vital and would undermine execution if they underwent issues. distributing information is a form of effective communication, which is very important in executing a project. Source selection is key because resources are the backbone of completing a project; if a team depletes their resources, the source needs to be reliable enough to replenish what was used in order to continue and complete the project. I feel as though the other parts of the executing process mentioned, while important, are not vital to the execution phase. I would label those parts as accessory portions that together help to complete projects.

Part of the executing process involves information distribution, solicitation, source selection, and managing vendor relations. Most of the time and money of the project go into its execution. I would argue that the parts of the executing process I mentioned at the start of this post are actually the most important parts of the project and severely undermine the execution when they undergo issues. Would you agree with this statement or not?

I can't entirely agree that the distribution, solicitation, selection, and management of the vendor relationship is the most important part. Yes, funding is key and vital to most projects, but it does not matter how great a relationship you have with vendors and stakeholders if you don't have a great relationship with the team in charge of completing the project. Fostering and solid team culture are what I would suggest is the most important part of the executing stage. This includes allowing for proper communication channels, celebrating milestones, effectively positioning people to project subsections, and utilizing their skills most effectively. Emphasizing the team aspect will make the project more efficient. A good team culture allows for mistakes to be readily notices and corrected, allows for the project scope to stay in focus, and allows for motivated team members who are eager to produce the best for the vendors and stakeholders involved.

I agree all of the above components of an execution process are important when obtaining the best resources. Maintaining good relationships with vendors may open doors for future projects and create a new bridge for the company. However, I would like to add that focusing too much on the external relationships of a project could leave room for internal relationships with the project team (and possibly the other managers) in the dark on important aspects of the project and cause execution not to be performed at an ideal level.

The Execution part of the process is important, but it is dependent on other phases that come before it. This stage has multiple levels to it because all of the ideas and plans are expected to be carried out. During Execution, clear and constant communication is necessary in order to make sure that things do not fall behind. Falling behind during this phase will negatively impact other areas of the project. This phase shares importance for completing the project, but it is not the most important part of the project.

I agree!  Specifically, the selection of vendors is critical.  This is especially true if the vendor is spread too thin, or they do not have capacity.   A recent article I read that assessed the success and failure of information technology projects at a manufacturing plant explained that 28% of the project succeeded because of proper execution in the execution process.  The main reasons the projects were successful was because measurement systems were in place to manage employee as well as department work products.

The same approach must be applied to vendors.  You have to manage your vendors by effectively measuring their work.  What can not be measured can not be accomplished, and this assessment takes place in the execution process.  Therefore, the execution process is the most important.
