The most important parts of project execution are communication and accountability. This means planning who will be in charge of every different part of the project so that everyone can focus of getting their part done. If planned correctly and everyone does their part, the project will be complete. Communication goes hand in hand with this because for success to take place the different parts of the project team need to communicate with each other to help progress the workflow. In fact, communication is a necessity because sometimes it takes more than one person to complete a part of a project.

I would highly rely on communication if I was a project manager. I believe that effective communication is the most important characteristic a manager should have. A project could easily fail if the manager does not know how to communicate well to his/her team members. A manager should also have very good leadership skills. Team members need someone who can lead in an effective and admirable way. A leader should be someone the team members could go to for anything they need and he/she should be able to talk to their team members without talking down to them. This again ties into communication and how a manager should be able to communicate effectively to his/her team members.

In the executing process, I think the most important consideration for a project manager is to have strong communication both within their project team as well as to any other individuals that may play a part throughout the project execution. As seen in the mini simulation 2 this week, communication by the project manager can be successful in having discussions to resolve disagreements between project team members and management, as well as find solutions to avoid delays due to resources from various departments. Strong communication can create an efficient team and give the project the best chance of completing the project successfully.

Every project manager is different in terms of how he wants to direct the project and guide his team. In my opinion below are the most important aspects of the execution phase:

Setting priorities - The team has to focus on prioritizing the tasks with the most values, which are on the critical path. This way the team can show the progress of the project by focusing more on those tasks to avoid any obvious delays to the project. All tasks that can be done in parallel should not be the focus of the team since they can be pushed out without affecting the progress of the project.

Being pro-active - Using that risk management file is definitely important to be pro-active and list all the risks, probability of occurrence, and the impact on the patient. This way the team avoids many things that can go wrong with the project before launching and after launching. Failures and complaints can be avoided by setting a mitigation plan to any expected and unexpected failures possible.

Communication - Miscommunication is probably the number one mistake teams often make during a project. The project manager has to make sure that the whole team is included in certain conversations to avoid miscommunication or misunderstanding, which helps expediting the execution of tasks and avoiding delays due to re-execution.

My biggest emphasis would be on COMMUNICATION. Even with this week's simulation, it was clear that communication can directly impact how a project plays out. Planning is one thing, executing a plan properly can only happen if all members are informed of what they specifically need to do.

A lot of projects fail to be executed properly because team members just simply are unaware of what they are required to do/are left unchecked. If a project starts and communication between team members lapses, it is very easy for significant failures to occur that may slow down or even stop the project entirely. For example, if a team member is required to complete a task and completes it wrong or doesn't complete it and no one else notices then the project is set back and can even potentially fail. If someone had checked in on this team member and then discussed their progress with them, then the chance of failure could have been reduced and the project could have easily been continued.

Personally, I think that planning can only go so far. There are so many reasons that parts of a plan change or don't get completed, but they can be negated or overcome as long as there is a key line of communication.

As a manager, (or at least in the managerial positions I have held) I have always tried to ensure that those who work with me and for me feel comfortable in approaching me and discussing any setbacks in their work. I want to ensure a consistent line of communication since I've found that lapses in such are often harder to deal with than if the issue had been discussed and dealt with when it had occurred.

During a  project there are different process phases that must take place. The planning and execution phases are very vital to the production of a successful project. Planning takes time and deduction to creating the correct timeline needed to produce and execute a great project. Key factors to take in consideration when executing the plan includes the understanding the scope of work, roles of team members, budget, timeline, and quality management.

As a manager I would emphasize the timeline, because other vendors, manufacturers and company are basing the production of the project off the time line that was created. I also am focusing on the budget, because the money that is used on this project is based on the amount of money that the company plans to make back from the project. As a manager I am also focusing on the team members I decide to pick for the project, because this will determine the roles that they are given to execute.

Whatever project you are working on, in any industry, uncertainty is a common factor in every project which can include how much a project will cost, who will work on it, how long it will take, and whether or not it will ultimately achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself and your client. With that in mind, considering the larger picture and paying particular attention to as many details as possible and as early as possible will help in successfully executing a project.

Proper schedule development and communication are so important during early project management processes. Communicating with management and conveying concerns accurately and according to the personalities of the managers is crucial. Communication within the team is absolutely essential. When working under a specific timetable, it is important that the team remains well-informed. This will help to decrease project risk.

Without the right team in place, any strategy and plan has the potential of completely falling apart. All of those involved must have commitment to the group, share similar visions for the projects and strive for overall success. It is important to assign the right people to each aspect of the project and make sure that they are working well together. Additionally, the entire team should be completely informed and involved in order to have the most successful outcome, which means that communication has to be on par.

In conclusion, as a project manager I will emphasize more on communication and proper time management. Also, Planning can help the team to meet deadlines and stay organized to properly execute the project within a stipulated time frame. Good planning not only keeps the project team focused and on track, but also keeps stakeholders aware of project progress.

As a team member, I see that the most important part is managing the relationship between the tasks when planning the schedule, and this step takes us back to how important communication is between the team members and the departments that are working on the project. As we saw in mini simulation 2, a whole project can be at risk of cancellation due to miss planning. Extending the testing time does not only make the team miss milestones, but it also cost the company time and money trying to overcome and making up the time and rearranging the schedule to accommodate the changes to have the minimal time lost and be with in the budget.

As a graduate student in a lab, Project execution is a very difficult task to maintain. Whenever a principal investigator has a idea the experiments which is required  to execute and prove the hypothesis the project needs to be executed perfectly and in a well planned manner. It has to be run through the senior managers or in this case the post doctorates of the lab and the final run through the PI such that all the work flow makes sense. The team is then built and the experiments are performed. The data is analyzed and then the presentation is made. Such is the way a project has to be executed in a laboratory or in a research field. The outcome may be favorable or may not be favorable . It might accept the hypothesis and may fail to accept the hypothesis. So, it is the execution which requires a lot of effort and planning and the project manager plays a huge role in that.

For me, I think the factor that is need to be concerned in the planning phase is reviewing the time line with departments head, and confirm their agreement on it. And for project execution phase, which already designed on the planning phase, it is important to keep eyes on the critical path tasks to make sure the tasks are going smoothly. Also, during execution phase the monitoring and control phase most be active to check and review the execution actions.

As a Project Manager, I believe that effective communication, time management, and end goal/customer satisfaction are key factors that lead to executing a successful project. Without effective communication, various portions of a project will have difficulty getting done because information won't be shared effectively. This can cause confusion and delay the completion of the project. Also, any issues that may arise might not be dealt with correctly due to the breakdown in communication and cause further delays. Time management is a vital part of project execution because schedules must be kept to produce punctual products. If a project gets behind schedule, this could delay other parts or teams in their roles. As with anything, the end goal must be kept in mind so as not to veer from the project. Projects that produce for public gain should keep customer satisfaction in mind throughout the entire project. Doing this will not only keep everyone on track, it will minimize side jobs and distractions and keep the project on the proper timeline.

As a Manager, I would emphasize on effective communication and time management because both are vital to a project's success and a teams cohesiveness.

A project manager has to pick a solid project team, but they have to capitalize on each individual's skill sets. They have to cater to individual needs and encourage them without micromanaging. This will allow for the best results without a manager allocating too much time to one team member. Conflict resolution is also a key part of this. Deadlines are around the corner, resources are exhausted, and team members are getting frustrated. A project manager needs to delegate and mediate any conflict that arises, not just between team members. Lastly, this also includes celebrating and highlighting milestone achievements. This will boost overall morale and keep the project goal in focus.

As a project manager, key factors that would need to be taken into consideration for a successful execution would be meeting standards according to quality assurance. This helps to know if your drug or medical device needs improvement or not. Managing employees in situations where they may need time off or to switch shifts are important. Your staff will not perform well if they are not committed to the job. As a PM you also want to make sure they are not overworking themselves. Meeting deadlines is important because time you are putting more factors at risk if any deadlines are missed. To run a successful profitable project, solicitation is beneficial because you want to work with people who can provide good prices for the resources you need to run your project. Measuring project performance to ensure that the plan is on the scheduled path is most important because overall you want to meet the deadline. Any time an error occurs, as a PM you should be aware of it and adjust it as you can. Also be mindful of costs. Going overbudget is taking more risks in the project and you want to ensure that you can give back what you put in. As a manager I would emphasize communication. Lack of communication is the number one factor to delays or mishaps within a project. In order to avoid missing deadlines, or knowing whether or your not you are within the budget of the project, being aware is crucial. Staff needs to communicate to management and amongst each other is issues come up or if changes need to be made. Communication with stakeholders is also key due to the fact that they are the source of financial income.

As a project manager key factors that need to be taken into consideration for successful project management execution is to make sure that you verify the scope. Make sure that you are receiving updates on the project and assure that the deadlines will not be missed. Make sure to make sure that this project is staying within budget. These are some things that a Manager to emphasize on but I must say that if a solid plan has been made then the executing phase of the project should move rather smoothly.
