Personally, I would love to be a sole proprietor because I make the sole decision and bear all the risk and make all the decisions meaning both the failure and success of the business are in my hands and I love it that way because I believe so much in myself…Although two or more heads are better than one but its better to have one head than two…[Read more]

A sole proprietorship is a business with one owner-employee who holds assets and is directly responsible for all business obligations. He also has sole control over the business. The phrase “passed on” suggests that the owner is transferring his business to another. How you transfer a sole proprietorship will depend on his personal preferences and…[Read more]

anhtong replied to the topic Good Quality Control or Quality Assurance Department in the forum Quality Control and Quality Assurance 7 years, 8 months ago
Harold Dodge, one of the founders of quality management, changed our view on quality with a vital statement: “You cannot inspect quality into the product.”. The only problem with this statement is that it is decades old yet not nearly fully adopted by manufacturing organizations or even their quality functions.
And I have always believed that a…[Read more]

Document control in QA department can be made easier by:
Having a Self-hosted DMS which is a good option for small to midsize departments. It helps to reduce administration time, increase productivity and save money and also gives you complete control over critical corporate data.

anhtong replied to the topic Your Ideas about Improving Quality Control in the forum Quality Control and Quality Assurance 7 years, 8 months ago
Quality is a customer determination, not an engineer’s determination, not a marketing determination, or a general management determination. It is based upon the customer’s actual experience with the product or service, measured against his/her requirements – stated or unstated, conscious or merely sensed – and always represents a moving tar…[Read more]

Researchers have examined the 113 devices that the FDA recalled between 2005 and 2009 for posing serious health risks, including endangering patients’ lives. Most of the devices – 71 percent – had been approved without undergoing testing in people, the researchers reported Monday in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
That’s because under a process…[Read more] -

A cigarette is a very dangerous substance and doesn’t warrant approval by the FDA thus makes me wonder about the next subject an E- Cigarette. anhtong replied to the topic Approaches to Research in the forum Pre-clinical Device Development 7 years, 9 months ago
I agree with the relationship that you present about the approaches given to industrial and academic research. As you put it, the purposes of the study conducted in the two areas are different. However, I have a feeling that the research in the industrial sector can also be conducted to solve a problem as it is in academic study. A good example is…[Read more]

I agree with the fact that research in the industrial sector takes a short time because of availability of resources. However, I would point out that research should take a reasonable period to be completed even if money is available. I buy the idea that medical research requires a lot of time and it is needless to rush things through for the…[Read more]

Considering the steps and output gotten from both forms of research I prefer the academia to the industry because the academia research is for the sole aim of researching towards solving a problem and as time goes on the academia research is always relevant and more researches can be built upon my earlier findings.

Conducting a clinical research is very delicate and when compared to some other forms of research it findings impact its research subjects directly.
Although I have not been involved in too many clinical researches I read a lot of books and there are three major reasons I think most clinical researches fail:

Frankly, I believe that both research ways are beneficial to the body of study but going against popular view I would prefer the Academia form of research where my research findings become useful at the long run or someone else furthers my research to make a discovery and the reason is this.
“Research is meant to bring about change, and a…[Read more] -

I have found all the earlier posts informative and very interesting but some other problems associated with failure to establish a robust design control system is that it can:
Lead to the development of product which is not “suitable for use”

The first advice I will give to Bio Medical Engineering students is to never be discouraged. This may or may not end up being a problem for you, but if you end up doing poorly at any point, don’t get too discouraged. For every student you see who’s running around with a 4.0, you’ve got people who are failing classes. You’ll just be one of the one…[Read more]
