  • I think that even though the fact that people stay for the challenge that work provides is sort of opposite of people leaving because they don’t get recognition and praise they are somewhat related. You want to have a job where there are challenges that push you to be better. You might not be motivated or stay if that work becomes boring. Even though you stay for the challenge you might want to leave if your accomplishments are not recognized. I would think that the bigger the challenge the more recognition and praise you would get. You would feel the accomplishment for yourself but being taken for granted could be demotivating to an employee. They might be able to find a job where they have the challenge they need to stay and at the same time receive the praise they lacked in order to not leave.
