If I was to start my own company I would most likely decide on an LLC. The most attractive part of it to me is the lowered levels of risk. If the company goes out of business then it will not ruin me financially. The big downside to this for me is that I would not be in control if someone with more money wanted to be in control. I know that I personally am a more conservative person so the protect than an LLC would afford me outweighs the possibility of a loss of control of the business as I know that I would still be able to have a certain amount of control regardless of how the stock ownership changes.
