  • ECO gives the chance for a team to admit a mistake was made or a design can be approved and effectively, document and execute that change. The process is first identifying the mistake or improvement and then documenting it properly on a diagram or official drawing as well as updating a procedure to include the change. Then the change is sent out for review where management and everyone affected can review and give comments. The team then incorporates and discusses the comments and updates the diagram/drawing and procedure. The change is then send out for signature to all parties involved, denoting they concur with the changes. The changes are then updated officially in the diagram/drawing and procedure. This process ensures that everyone is aware of the changes and finds anymore problems or improvements before the output is officially published.
