In my experience with procurement management, it is necessary to have a very clear idea of the plan of the project and the specs of the materials needed. This is where procurement management becomes important. There are a lot of products and materials out available for purchase and many of them can be interchanged to complete similar tasks. However, most projects have multiple user requirements to be met, and a strict budget to maintain. For these reasons, a strict procurement management plan is necessary to ensure the best item for the project is being procured and at the best price. In order to do so, market research is very important. Look at similar previous products in order to determine possible items and then research on achieving the best price is second. Success in procurement management will allow progress in product development in the the development stage.
