The tasks are interdependent so the overlapping is done in same category to track both of them. While in the different categories there may be subprojects,subprograms or subportfolios that can be dependent when merged further. There has to be monitoring of them as well in parallel so there is no out of control situation occurance. OR they have to be monitored in parallel keeping in mind the Deadlines of finish of the project.
