The industry differs from academia in many ways that allows it to be completed faster. As stated by some people above I believe finances have a lot to do with it. When a company chooses to move forward on a project they tend to be financially ready to handle the project. They make sure they have the money they want to spend. Many grants are a…[Read more]

I believe a large part of this issue is also people not being able to admit that other people might be better at certain aspects of a project. When companies begin to micromanage and have people working outside of their strong suits a project can suffer. If I could go back I should have started working earlier and then maybe would have been able to take more work related courses as my electives. This class really seems like its going to show me what else is out there.…[Read more]

I feel like you can not call it a 70/30 based off that this is the only course that i know of that is set up this way. Also as a current undergraduate student there is not offere of these practical classes. I do believe that BMEs specifically are well know for their diversity and large range of knowledge, but I do not believe that college has…[Read more]

Currently I am Working as a production engineering CO-OP at Getinge. While I am so grateful to be employeed and appreciate the industry related work it is far from what I want to do for the rest of my life. It is a lot of paperwork and plenty of reading and revising. Currently, still being an undergraduate I am happy to just be in the industry but…[Read more]
