In my opinion, the most important responsibility of the FDA is to ensure the safety and effectiviness of all drug and medical devices. Meds, vaccines, and medical devices all effect patient life and health outcomes are typically are life or death situations. If the products are unsafe and ineffective, this can lead to severe and immediate consequences that can cause death. The FDA ensures that there is a review of the products before they go into the market. They require a lot of testing a and clinical trial to ensure that they safe and effective to the FDA standards to ensure that the products don't fail and work as this could mean life or death for a patient. By creating a ton of laws and rules that the device must follow allows for the patients safety and effectiviness of the upmost importance through the proper channels and without cutting corners.
