In my opinion, two of the most powerful advertisements that I have seen are both by the company Apple and aired before I was born. Nonetheless, I believe both advertisements are quite iconic and memorable to watch even to this day. The first of these advertisements was a Macintosh advertisement that was shown during the Superbowl in 1984. The significance of this advertisement was that it gained inspiration from the book by George Orwell called 1984, hence the year it was aired. The advertisement depicted the company IBM as some overshadowing “big brother” that was trying to take over the entire personal computer market, but Apple was here to save everyone with their introduction of the Macintosh computer. Correspondingly, the other iconic advertisement introduced by Apple was one often referred to as the “Here’s to the Crazy Ones.” This advertisement basically honored and showed iconic figures in history that didn’t accept the status quo and brought change to the world by their ability to think differently. Overall, I believe the purpose of this advertisement was to show how Apple was different and more innovative than the other major computer companies of that time. Overall, both advertisements are ones that I would recommend one to watch if they have not seen them yet.

One of the advertising campaigns that has stood out has been the Nike poster featuring ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The ad is a close of photo of his face with the words, "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything." This can be interpreted in the context of sports for someone to continue practicing and that hard work pays off. However their choice of using Kaepernick, who was unable to get another NFL contract after refusing to stand for the national anthem of the United States, meant that they were also making a statement on social and political issues. Some people applauded the ad while others were outraged. In the end, people were talking about Nike, which is the goal of any advertisement.

I feel like the greatest advertisement that I have ever seen (and is still running the same commercial) is Empire Today. Not only did this commercial have one of the most catchiest tunes I have ever heard, but the animations portraying the role of the company was flawless. There are so many feats to a commercial that can make the company go viral and bring in tons of customers. This commercial is only seven seconds long but has been aired on TV for over THIRTY years. The fact that this commercial is so catchy forces its customers to remember the phone number and whenever customers think about carpet shopping, Empire Today is the first to come to mind all thanks to this commercial. Advertising plays a huge role in a company and even a 7 second advertisement can go a long way.

This all depends on the person and what they like. Due to the development of social media and the internet. Advertisements have changed and it has such a diverse form as well. I am not a big fan of advertisements via using social media influencers. To me one of the more simplistic ones that I still think it's super simple but effective was the coke's print advertisement when they started to label the coke bottles with individual names. I would never have imagined such a large company coke to do such a simple but effective advertisement of making each coke bottle for individuals.  Also, I think this also shows that advertisements do not require you to spend a lot of money but use simple but effective advertisement methods.

For me it would be an old indian Add. during 90s of a washing detergent called "Nirma", it got so famous that washing detergent in general was being called by the name nirma. It featured men/women in bright clothes followed by a catchy song. 😀

I am not a fan of all type of advertisement, but the ones that i might like are the ones that had a nice music, real example that happened, while  I am driving I had YouTube play my list of music then the aid came and it was about some conference happening in the area. The only reason I listened to the Aid was because of the music and the song.

Coca-Cola will always be one of my favorite commercials because it just makes me crave it every single time. The way they make it look and sound refreshing just makes it impossible to resist. But my most favorite of all is their "Together is Beautiful" commercial, where they show how diverse America is, with different cultures all sharing the same country, and singing together in the commercial. It's not only advertising the drink but also showing the world that we are all together no matter the race and ethnicity, and that we could still share many things even with different cultural views; things as simple as a Coca Cola drink, maybe. It just made me really happy in a time where the whole world needed to see that it doesn't matter who we are and where we come from, but what matters is how unified we have to be to overcome the strongest battles.

Advertising is a critical component of marketing, and if not executed effectively, could be the make or break of a product. Within the Four P’s of Marketing, advertising falls under promotion. There are many different ways to promote a product, including virtual, internet, televised, or printed advertisements. And over the years as technology has evolved, so has the many streams of advertisement.

An infamous ad campaign from California Milk Processor Board- “Got Milk?” in 1993 is still commonly heard today. I chose this as an example not only because of its long lasting impression, but additionally because of the more uncommon strategy utilized to increase sales. This ad was not to get consumers who don’t drink milk to start, but rather to have the current consumers appreciate and purchase more than they already do. I found this to be a clever way to promote the product and was actually shocked by how long ago this campaign was released and how prevalent “Got Milk?” still is.

During this Covid-19 pandemic crisis time, Companies around the world have come up with innovative advertisements to sell their products. Trying to create ads that seek to capture the emotions and feelings generated by large crisis can be very tricky. However companies and their advertising partners have succeed in creating very memorable ads that help lift their brands to new heights. One such ad was from Domino's to provide contact less delivery with the tagline - 'Stay home, we deliver'. With this marketing I think their sales shouldn't have been affected much. Similiar advertising tactics was followed by other restaurants as well to keep up their sales.

I think the best advertisements really know how to speak to their audience. I remember watching tv ads featuring McDonald's Happy Meals as a kid, where they would show the different toys available in the meal, and would really grab my attention. The toys were often relevant to what was being shown in theaters, so they knew what was popular in the market for kids. The toys included in the Happy Meal would also change from time to time, so it was exciting to see new toys (as kids often get tired of old toys) on the tv ads. Thinking back, I think the marketing team for the McDonald's Happy Meals really knew how to speak to kids, combining the fast-food with toys, and introducing new popular toys so kids wouldn't get bored.

I recently saw an advertisement from GoPro that did an excellent job promoting their newest line of cameras. For starters, the entire advertisement was filmed using the product that they were promoting. This was really impressive because the advertisement contained extremely high quality and high-resolution footage in some of the world’s toughest climates. These shots consisted of various outdoor extreme sports such as snowboarding in cold and moist conditions, dirt biking in hot and dusty conditions, and even snorkeling meters under water. The biggest impression I got from the advertisement was consistency. I knew right away that this one camera was capable of capturing high quality footage across many different climates. The largest impact of this commercial however was that all of the footage was filmed by their customers. This left me with a strong feeling of inspiration and desire to capture my own footage with the product.

Personally, when I saw this topic, my mind immediately goes to Super Bowl commercials. Its one of the few, if not only times, where people will look forward to seeing the commercials as well as the game. I think some of the Doritos commercials are so memorable because they are funny. I still remember one where they tricked a man into thinking a cardboard box was a time machine. Another great example, also from the Super Bowl, are the Bud Light advertisements. More specifically, there was this one advertisement that became very popular which included a dog and horse friendship. It is not what you typically would think of when you think of Bud Light, but at the end of the day, people remember the advertisement and think of Bud Light. In terms of marketing, it works well in that it makes consumers think about their products even if the advertisement is not directly correlated with the product and its usage or function.

Just a correction that I was not able to update in the previous post, the company which used the dog and horse friendship is Budweiser, not Bud Light. Also, there are multiple advertisements following that theme, and it is something to look forward to during the Super Bowl commercials.

According to me, I saw a lot of advertisements that are wonderful, but the advertisement that is stuck on my mind is a lawyer advertising on California interstate 5 highway. The attorney office Super Woman Super Lawyer made an advertising emphasizing the first letter of words using bold font, so The people who passthrough this road will be came curious to read full words.

Advertising is a component of marketing. The way a product is promoted/advertised is what most average people notice about a product. What was a really great promotion/advertisement that you remember?

For me, a great one would be the Red Bull Space Jump.

I don't know if these can be considered the best ads, but they really stuck out.  I tend to hate gimmicky ads, but they are also the ones I am most likely to remember -- like it or not.  I am referring to the ads that use animals as their "mascot" for the product, like the Liberty Mutual Limu Emu and the Geico Gecko.  I remember the ads because they are eye-catching and sort of cute.  There's a positive association between the animal and the product.
