I would prefer to work in a matrix company. Maybe it is because I am from New York and see new people everyday. I am excited to work with new people on new projects. This way I am able to expose my selfs to different strategies, resources, and viewpoints within my field. In the shortest amount of time compared to other organization types.

I think I work in a Functional organization as every employee is doing specific roles like me as a Manufacturing operator in the company using specific fundamental skills: Sealing, welding, and Sepax C-pro. I do several processes with a verifier assigned by my manager. However, I don't like this type of organization because it makes you limited to one role and make the person doesn't have multiple skills to contribute to the company.

I currently work in a matrix organization as well and the program managers would recruit people from different departments for their program. This organization works really well because there is no need to pay for more than what is necessary for that company and it seems to be what most companies have adapted. The managers usually control the importance of different programs so they know how handle the work that needs to done by each department.

One of the disadvantages that I have seen from this structure is when work begins to pile up and the lower-level employees have to stay extra hours to get it done. All of these employees work by salary so they don't get much compensated for staying extra hours except for the recognition and the yearly bonus review. Some people just live with this fact at work but it completely depends on the manager.
