When a key team member leaves, the priority is to minimize disruptions and to quickly reassign responsibilities. The first thing to do is to redistribute the critical task to someone in the group that is similar skill or bringing in a replacement asap to ensure there is no disruption in the process. Cross training an employee may be important as it can create for the distribution of work to be taken on. By resequening tasks to can allow for the work to continue as well a filling in the gaps, and reducing time of idling. Additionally there should be clear documentation and the transfer of knowledge to help speed up the transition. Finally by maintaning an open communication with the stakeholders cna help to manage the expectation of the project and as well as the time line.
