I believe that I can become a PM in the future; having held various management positions throughout my career, I was exposed to challenges that strengthened my ability to lead consistently. My weakness has been time management, and I would like to gain more experience in the Cost Management arena.

I think I would make a good project manager. I have learned a lot throughout this course and through these forums. Currently, I am taking a project management course through google to receive my certification. The course is really easy for me and I understand it very well. I think the most difficult part about becoming a PM is actually applying the knowledge that I learned through this class and the course I am taking.

I find myself to be a technical person who can work well in a team environment and tend to be a good teamplayer. While I have had experience in a leadership position for a senior capstone project my main downfall was actually leading. I found that facilitating multiple people and running the show to be extremely frustrating. I found that my patience was tested during the project due to teammates not delivering their work. Although I struggled, I felt that I did a good job, we were able to finish our project and overcame many obstacles and I learned alot about myself. Would I want to be a PM ever? Maybe, for with my previous experience I felt I learned alot, but I feel I need to work more on my leadership if I were to take a role like that.

Currently, I am pursuing to work in biopharmaceutical company in manufacturing department. As a project manager I have to coordinate directly to the production process manager to complete the task in a timely manner. I have to also co ordinate with validation department, A R & D department, quality assurance and quality management department to complete the validation as well as research project. From these course I briefly have the idea to whom I need to allot task for quick and timely results. I can evaluate the process outcomes and provide to management in Pre define timeframe with productive results.

I believe that I do have the potential to become a successful project manager because I can communicate well. I think one of the most important things a project manager should possess is great communication skills. Without good communication skills, the project would easily fall apart and/or there will be many misunderstandings amidst these team members. Good communication skills allow the team members and the stakeholders to all be on the same page. Another important skill that project managers should have is organization skills. Managers need to have a thought out plan when beginning a project and delegate roles in an organized way so that there are not any overlaps or misunderstandings, which I believe that I am able to do. Also as an engineer, I am supposed to problem solve and analyze many different things. As a project manager, it would be important to solve problems and issues that come up in a quick and effective manner. This skill is very crucial especially when dealing with an engineering project.
