For me, the biggest motivator is the feeling of accomplishment that comes after completing a specific task or project. This feeling of accomplishment feels even greater when the task at hand is very difficult. Knowing that I have completed the task to the best of my ability, I feel a sense of pride in myself and the work I have done to complete the task. Rather than getting frustrated when completing it, I think of the end feeling that I know I will have once I complete it. This gives me the motivation to keep trying and exhaust all my options prior to asking for help or additional time to complete the task. Being motivated and determined has helped me excel in both school and work and I have found that this way of thinking works very well for me.

My biggest motivator would somewhat fall along the lines of competition but more has to do with the fear of missing out on opportunities that are present to me. For example, seeing others getting internships or job opportunities motivated me because I wanted to share the same experiences they were having and I wanted to understand the different emotions, hardships, and successes that came along with finding a job. This can also be related to any class with doing well on tests. I have always wanted to make sure that I was also able to experience the great feeling that came with doing well on a test or being able to answer questions right in class and that became my biggest motivator for as long as I have been in school.

I am motivated by the desire to succeed. I enjoy working on demanding tasks because it makes me feel fulfilled. In addition, I am passionate about the work I do so it motivates me to want to succeed and do better. My manager also motivates me because it is inspiring to see how much she has accomplished. She encourages me to succeed and gives me opportunities to learn new skills.

My biggest motivation comes from watching those around me work hard which motivates me to work hard. Every time I sit down to work I thrive in an environment that fosters great work culture and a place where everyone is determined to succeed. Whether it is on an exam or on a project that goes well. Another motivator to be successful is also the feeling of accomplishment after finishing something. Be a presentation or something that's worthwhile and has a large gravity towards it, this gives me ultimate motivation to work hard and be successful.

My greatest motivator is the desire to accomplish my goals. I'm blessed to be in a position that I've dreamt of obtaining where my goals are merely within arms reach. I'm able to work alongside some of the greatest PhDs and have my name published in scientific articles and journals. Previous to becoming a clinical scientist, I worked as a research scientist in pathology. The PhD that I assisted constantly kept me in the loop with research articles that I could be co-author of, which was a constant motivator to do the work and complete the research project.

My greatest motivator is remembering the overall purpose of what I am doing. Without purpose most tasks would feel meaningless or mundane so remembering the bigger picture helps me push through what I am working on. Additionally, completing tasks is rewarding in the sense that you can begin to work on something new which is more exciting. The variation in assigned workload keeps me interested in my work and motivated to work harder.

What truly motivates me is helping people, or at least the idea of helping people. Although it can get muddled and diluted in these huge medical device companies, my main driving force to going to work every day and studying at night is knowing that I am helping drive better outcomes for people and helping advance the health of people. Right now I work on new product development for a large medical device company. Some days my tasks might be extremely mundane and trivial, but I know that grinding through these times will put me in a better position to leave a lasting impact on people’s health. I hope to bring my experiences from graduate school and my career to start-up companies to create more novel medical devices that can drive better outcomes in spaces that haven’t been tackled yet by this industry. Every day I chip away at making that my reality and achieving that goal 🙂

We were all struggling with a class. It was during COVID and it required consistent and effective communication with each team member. Not only that, but we had to do experiments on ourselves and share data. Some members would be assigned to do coding and others were to start working on documentation and doing background research for the lab. It was difficult and by this point in the class, almost everyone had a bad experience with a previous group. What motivated the group was to be different and better partners than the experience they came from. We all shared our rough experiences and realized we had a common frustration. We bonded and quickly independently chose our roles and started to grind out the lab. Whenever someone had issues, we were quick to respond and help. In this group, there was no individual project manager leading, but a collective group of motivated students who wanted to do better.

What generally motivates me to do better is focusing on the journey and not on the destination. I find the comradery with peers and working through challenges fun and exciting. It's satisfying to learn from mistakes and come out a better engineer and person. All in all it's the progressive growth as a person that motivates me. In a work environment, my answer generally remains the same but I have to be practical given that it's also my livelihood. Factors such as benefits and pay are important to my work motivation.

My biggest motivation is success and the prospect of helping others. I work in the Biotech industry because I like the thought that someone is being saved and/or helped because I showed up to work. Being a part of a company that manufactures car-t products, I feel like that my presence helps aid in someone's treatment. This and my ambitions to move up in my department and position is why I wake up each day. I work in quality assurance and I make sure all manufacturing is within procedure and compliance and knowing that each patient is getting the best quality drug is a real everyday motivator.

I think that my main motivator that helps me accomplish my goals are usually people who are above me, such as a manager. When I see people accomplish what I want to accomplish in the future, I hold their advice with higher regard. I was recently running to be on the Bayonne Board of Education. While I was campaigning and reaching out to the residents of Bayonne, I was approached by other people who were also running. Some of the people that were running had won the election years before and they were rerunning. Since there were 4 spots open on the board, we decided to get together and run on the same ticket so we could work together to get votes. At the time, I thought that was the best decision for me because they had a lot of connections with other officials in Bayonne and I got to meet a lot of residents. I decided to work with them because they have won before and they have strategies to help get people to vote for them. This past November, I was elected to be on the board and I am the youngest person to be on the board in Bayonne history.

I am most motivated by the amount of work I have to do. I find that on weeks when I don't have many assignments due, I'm taking forever on one assignment. But on weeks when I have a lot of things due, I find myself being diligent and productive in doing the work. In terms of work, I find that experiences and the acquisition of knowledge motivate me. I gravitate toward new projects that directly impact line production and our products because there is a lot I can gain from them, including a better understanding of the company. I'm always willing to push myself and see how far I can go and how much I can handle, because in those instances, I amaze myself at how much I am capable of.

Something that motivates me to do my best in school or work is thinking about what I am trying to achieve in my career and my end goal. I use my aspirations of eventually finding a cure for neurodegenerative diseases as my motivation to put 100% effort into everything I do. Even when I get thrown curves at work, I always have in the back of my mind while I am doing my job and how it will help me get to the position where I can do more for my field. Also, my thirst for more knowledge definitely pushes me as well. I constantly wish to learn more techniques and possible testing methods that I don't really do often since I am in another department. I always try to ask management from other departments within my company if I could have an associate teach me some of the uses for the equipment that is used or how to do some documentation that I have never done before. I think being willing to do things outside of your scope is also a sort of motivation because it allows for you to understand things that come in direct contact with your work.

Project management is aimed at achieving successful project outcomes by efficiently managing resources, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholders. This involves using structured approaches to plan, execute, and monitor project activities, which helps project managers to remain on track and respond appropriately to changing circumstances.

By using project management methodologies and tools, organizations can achieve higher levels of efficiency, productivity, and quality in project delivery, which can lead to improved customer satisfaction and a competitive edge in the market. Moreover, successful project management can facilitate the development of team members' skills, creating a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Throughout the project lifecycle, risks are identified and managed, and stakeholders are kept informed and engaged. Ultimately, the aim of effective project management is to complete projects within the given time and budget while meeting the project's objectives and requirements.
